DH & I saw Hamilton last weekend...
and we did not like it at all. Are we the only ones? We walked out of the theater and DH said, "something must be wrong with us." We were so excited, I have never heard of someone not liking it. We are pretty cultured and have seen a lot of shows, most recently Come From Away- which we loved. So, did anyone else not like it?

I have literally zero desire to see it and wouldn't go if someone gave me free tickets..... does that count?

I have heard Evan Hansen is amazing...love the music! I initially had no desire, but if one more person told me it was life changing and I was missing out. I am not taking that away from anyone, I am just happy I am not alone lol.

Re: DH & I saw Hamilton last weekend...
My husband and I hated Book of Mormon. I think it was in part that we had the understudy, to the understudy, and he kept forgetting his lines. So the other cast members were literally saying his lines for him. We had such high hopes for the show. But we knew it was a dud when no one stood up at the end. It was polite applause, and the people left in a hurry. All of the people near us were saying stuff to one another at the intermission. We saw some people leave, and I had heard from another couple nearby they were going to ask for their money back.

I have no desire to see it either. When it first came out and was all over the place I couldn’t figure out what all the hype was about.

I loved Hamilton and didn't like Come From Away at all, so different strokes.

Re: DH & I saw Hamilton last weekend...
My friend just asked if I wanted to go. Why are the tickets so darn expensive?? It was $250 for one ticket?? I have zero desire to see it too. I declined. I would rather take my family to a hockey game.

I’ve never met anyone who didn’t love it.
I’m not a huge fan of hip hop but can appreciate Lin-Manuel Miranda’s talent.

I literally had no idea who Lin Miranda was until I saw his name on here in conjunction with Hamilton. I still really don't know who he is.......

I saw both and loved both...I’d put the two in my top five, for sure.
Yes, different strokes for different folks, but the people who consider Lion King their favorite Broadway show....those people definitely have problems
Kidding...kidding...

I saw Hamilton at a theater in Fort Lauderdale. It was terrible and I left after intermission. It wasn’t my type of show. I would not see it in nyc Broadway

You couldn't pay me to see Lion King or Frozen on Broadway either. Honestly the only show I saw that I would consider seeing more than once was Les Miz

Re: DH & I saw Hamilton last weekend...
Were you familiar with the music at all beforehand?
We saw it on tour when it came to our area and thought it was fantastic. I think at least one of the main actors is now in the Broadway production. We took our oldest to see it and he loved it too. We played a lot of the music in the months before the show so we were all familiar with it. That was something I always did growing up and I liked being familiar with at least some of the songs before seeing the show.

I totally agree, different strokes for different folks. I can appreciate why so many love Hamilton, and several other popular shows I did not care for, like Rent and Phantom. Like a PP said, I do sometimes wonder how anyone could consider any Disney musical their favorite musical of all time...Cats too. Haha I was familiar with some of the music, the music is alright. I think I am also one of those people who dislikes anything that is the "in" thing, and all hype. Fifty Shades of Gray being a perfect example...I kept thinking, "what do people see in this??!!" Les Miz...the BEST. I saw it 4 times on Broadway.

I did love Hamilton, but I can see why others might not. Everyone can't all love the same thing.
I hated CATS. My mom sees a ton of Broadway and she hated Evan Hansen. I wasn't a huge fan of Kinky Boots either.

That's terrible. DH and I saw that over the summer and we thought it was hysterical. The whole audience was cracking up the entire time.

I saw it recently and it was hilarious!!
I also saw Hamilton and loved it! At first I was like eh..., but then I really got into it.
I've also seen Moulin Rouge, Dear Evan Hansen, Beetlejuice and King Kong this year. I loved them all except for King Kong (so stupid) I really want to see Jagged Little Pill this week!

I have no desire to see it so I am pretty sure I'd feel the same way. Then again I think I'm the only person in the world who didn't care for Wicked either.

I didn't love Wicked. I really enjoy the music, but I think at the time I saw it, it was over hyped and so I was let down.
I was worried I would feel the same way about Hamilton, that everyone built it up too much, but I LOVED it. I'm not into history, but I don't think you need to be. I just enjoyed it so much.
