Cruise out of NY
I have. My ex and I did a 7 night Carnival cruise that left in May to Eastern Caribbean. It was awesome! It was my only cruise experience so I have nothing to compare it to, but was one of my best vacations. May was a great month to leave because it was still off season so the price was ridiculously cheap and we boarded in the evening, around 4 or 5pm, and by the time we woke up the next morning we were far enough South to get great weather. I've heard mixed reviews on Carnival though, but we had a great experience.

Re: Cruise out of NY
A few years ago we did the Norwegian out of NYC to Bermuda. It was great., the two sea days back to back were a little rough but that’s because we went in September and waters were rocky. But I loved Norwegian and Bermuda.
FYI, I went back to Bermuda sans cruise and it was so expensive to eat, breathe and exist.

We did a 10 day Royal Caribbean out of Bayonne, NJ, in May, forgot where we went. Awesome sailing under the Verazzano bridge.

Yes, I have done a bunch of them from NCL out of NY. What info are you looking for?

Same here! We almost exclusively leave out of NY on NCL. We usually do the Bermuda itinerary as it's nice to be docked for 3 consecutive days than jumping from port to port and only getting a few hours at each destination.

Re: Cruise out of NY
We did NCL out of NYC last year in May and we booked RC out of NJ for end of next summer. We'll be on the Oasis, one of the massive ships and I cannot wait!!!
I love not having to fly, the extra costs of flying, booking a hotel, getting from airport to the boat, etc. The only downside is the itineraries are more limited. However, we still have small kids, so we're ok with the Bahamas itineraries until they're a bit older and can do more of the excursions.

Cruise out of NY
I’ve done to Bermuda 3 times and florida/Bahamas 1 time. Twice on ncl and twice on royal. Royal to Bermuda was the best ship/itinerary. Leaving from nj was easier than leaving from Manhattan.

Cruise out of NY
We have done at least 9 cruises out of NY with the family. It's fantastic. You are limited on where the ship sails but the ease of just driving to the port makes up for that.

Re: Cruise out of NY
We've done several. If you are considering doing in cold weather I would consider Anthem of the Seas from Jersey. It was built to sail in cold weather with lots of indoor space.

Re: Cruise out of NY
I just did Carnival Sunrise on Sept 4th retnd on the 12th. Going was fine, we sailed around Dorian(sp) the storm at that time. We got to all the islands which we were fortunate because other cruises had to change their destinations etc. coming back one of the days were rough with 12ft swells and a little rocky but I would sail out of NY in a heartbeat and as much as I could. It was super convenient. Just need to remember to start taking the dramamine a day before

We went over February break 2 years ago. The waters were rough leaving and coming back into NY. From my experience, the kids really never get sea sick, it's the adults. We always bring children's bonnine though just in case. We never had to use it though.
