Nazi military items for sale at a consignment shop OOS
i was browsing at a consignment shop that has stalls for different vendors. I see a case with military medals and other paraphernalia. Interested I went to look closer. couldn't believe my own eyes. Nazi medals, a flag, and other small items with swastikas on them!
At another stall, I had seen a very beautiful Jewish star pendant I was considering buying.
I'm the granddaughter of 2 survivors.
I left the store. I couldn't bring myself to buy anything from a store selling that stuff. It's not their items but they do make money off of it's sale.
what do you think of this?!

Was the entire stall Nazi items? If so, that is very odd. If it was a bunch of WWII items including that, I wouldn't think much of it. It's a piece of history and history buffs and some museums may be interested in some of it

there were other military items, yes. there were other items in there not just Nazi pieces.
I thought about museums; I think all of it belongs in museums personally. And i did speak to another vendor who happened to be with her items in another stall who told me museums do regularly buy from her.
But to even have a museum have to buy it, and for anyone to profit from it in any way turns my stomach.

Can you even sell Nazi memorabilia? I know on eBay you can’t and if you did they would end your listing.

I would buy them just to donate them to a holocaust museum. My father in law has stuff from WWII that his dad "took" when he was overseas -- i think one is a nazi flag. When the time comes for us to inherit their stuff, I do not want it (they expect us to keep it... hell no) but I won't just let it go anywhere. I will try to donate to a jewish history museum.

It's not illegal in the US, so a person can't get arrested, but eBay is a private company, and they can create their own rules and guidelines, so they prohibit any sale of Nazi items.

I know so many people will say "it's still history" but no, I don't believe there should be an aftermarket for those items. Donate to a museum then. But selling them I believe is in such poor taste.
