this time, i will not be distracted!!

the last time i was kicking a$$ in debt freedom, i got distracted with SO's 50th birthday party. i didn't go into debt because of the party, but i spent money on the party instead of killing debt.

i don't regret it, but it's time to get back to it.

about a week ago, i re-realized something i already knew: the cell phones on my wireless plan are on a payment plan. so, this morning, i paid off two of the three phones.

yay!
this will reduce my monthly payment! i'll pay the third off in two weeks (it's the newest with the highest balance still to pay).

i will be financially free in 2020!!

i just got payment confirmation that my last cell phone has been paid off.

woo hoo.

i've decided to not be too "gazelle intense" and enjoy the ride.

when i pay of a debt in full, i will have a small celebration.

the way i will celebrate my cell phone bill going down by almost $100/month will be by getting a mani and a pedi.

then i will put laser-like focus on my next debt: my visa cc. i believe the balance on that bad boy is $3k

Getting yourself out of debt is literally the BEST feeling in the world!!! It's such a heavy burden that is lifted and you can breathe so much easier and enjoy your life.

When we bought our first house it was at the height of the market (right before the crash) and interest rates sucked so we were buried under an overpriced house that wasn't worth the payments we were making. Last year we sold the house, my DH took a job promotion and we paid off all of our debts. Now we are about to close on our dream house which we bought under budget and with super low rates. What a difference that makes in your monthly payments!

I refuse to EVER be back in position where we owe a credit card or personal loan. Going forward, it's cash or nothing. That is the best way to go through life.

I'm happy to say that the insurance covered it.

It was only $29 for the claim and DONE. Yay!

good for you. we're trying the ramsey snowball too. hopefully we'll have everything but the houses paid off this year. :)
