Adoption?
Does anyone have information on adoption? We have been trying for 4 years and at our age now it isn’t going to happen. We are looking to adopt now. We know we don’t want to do private and we know it is a nightmare. Any agency recs? TIA.

We adopted our DS 7 years ago. We used Wide Horizons for our home study. They focus mainly on international adoptions. We adopted domestically and used American Adoptions. The whole process from start to finish took almost two years. Good luck on your journey!

Adoption?
I would not rule out private. I actually know people who have had better luck with private than with agency.
When I was thinking about adoption I was going to do private. There are facebook groups

Also consider Foster to adopt. Assuming you are in NYS, if you adopt a foster child that is placed with you, all costs are covered. My husband and I are in the process now of becomng foster parents. It may not always work the first time around but there are so many children in need of homes.

You can try as a foster parent through DSS but be be advised there is a chance the baby will go back to the parents so it’s not for everyone...
