Yelling at employees in the office- update
What are your thoughts about openly yelling at an employee in front of the entire office to hear?
So they ended up writing the employee up (not the person who was yelling)
Is it a red flag that 2 people have quit and a 3rd is on track to being let go in 6 months span? We are only a dept of 4.

Completely unprofessional and sounds like someone who needs a class on how to be a manager. Like a beginner's class actually.

Unprofessional, but it happens. Emotions overcome people. As long as it's not a regular occurrence, I view it as just party of work life.

It’s a very quick way for your employees to not respect you. If you take on the role of manager, you should know how to communicate with people.

Unprofessional.
I think you can make your point with having to yell at someone.
I remember being at in a restaurant on the water in Patchogue. It was a busy sunny afternoon. I was having lunch with coworkers and there was a young waitresses getting scolded by the woman manager. Just berating her.
The girl was practically in tears and just kept apologizing. I really wanted to get up and leave and remember being mortified for the girl. I have not been back there since.

Yelling at employees in the office
Unprofessional, degrading and makes the person yelling look like a savage.
Someone kind of yelled at me once because I was doing work of his that I had no business doing. So I told my boss and he said I should stop and then my boss spoke to the person.
I saw red and told him that I'm not his child, I am an adult just like him so never speak to me like that again.
We worked together for years after that and he spent the majority of it trying to kiss my ass and I spent the majority of it ignoring him.

Its completely unprofessional and honestly I don't view it as part of work as someone up thread said.
I have been fortunate never to have been yelled at at work or worked for people who yell. If it is a constant I would go to HR - there is no excuse for yelling at employees.

Exactly. Controlling your emotions in a work setting is a part of being a manager. And an adult actually.
Maybe this person who keeps yelling at their employees needs some professional help in anger management.

This. I’d take the first decent job I could find and get out of there.
