While I’m at it...

Having a bad weekend and venting away ??. If your boyfriend didn’t reply to two text messages in a row (a “what are you up to” text at like 6 pm and a funny picture with commentary like 2 hours later) for over 24 hours; would you be irritated? He is away every weekend bc his children are traveling winter athletes and we only see each other once a week from December to March. I feel like not responding for over 24 hours is rude and annoying.

While I’m at it...

How long have you been dating?
Although 24 hours is a long time and yes would be irritating.

Yup.
Especially if we only see each other once a week. Texting is a way to communicate and stay connected/close.

I would be annoyed. I would think he got caught up yesterday evening with his kids. But I would expect to get a text today. I don’t think you are wrong.

Yes, I would be mad. I get mad when 8 hours go by. I've learned in speaking with others, that men are just not great texters to be honest. 24 hours is a long time though. I would call him. Maybe something happened?

My son plays travel hockey. We are away most weekends and I don’t get a chance to breathe. It’s going from game to game-in and out of gear.

I don’t text my husband sometimes for that amount of time.

Re: While I’m at it...

Definitely not ok. It doesn't take long to give a quick response if you are busy. I would be upset with that.

Yeah that's annoying.
I don't care how busy you are- 24 hours means you had a night and morning in between. So you mean to tell me when he was getting into bed he couldn't take 2 minutes to reply to your text?
Or in the morning right when he woke up?
I am sure he looked at his phone to scroll the news, sports, stocks, whatever he looks at- in those 24 hours.
Face it- most people even take their phones when they go take a shit- so there is no excuse.

And your husband doesn’t blow up your phone with texts asking about the games?? If I go incommunicado my husband practically sends the FBI out looking for me. He MUST be kept in the loop or he loses his mind. Chat Icon Sometimes when we’re together there will be a score change and I grab my phone to update him even though he’s standing right next to me. That’s how conditioned I am. Chat Icon

Ahhhh the Busy Olympics.
People are just “too busy” to do something that takes literally 10 seconds. But let’s be honest...if it’s important to you, you find time to do it.

Exactly.
There's a saying- If it's important to you, you'll find a way. If it's not you'll find an excuse.

And a text takes very little time. You can go to bed 30 seconds later than normal and reply to a freaking text.

I'm tired of common courtesy and respect being out the window under the guise of being busy.
