Trying to find a nice hotel to recommend to my boss who will be coming to Long Island for a wedding in the fall. The wedding is in Huntington so she would like to stay within a half hour or so commute. I was thinking about recommending Danford's? I haven't lived on LI in 5 years so I'm not sure what might be nice and worth recommending.

Re: Hotels
I think Danfords is a little run down based on the trip advisor reviews. My boss likes it but he has questionable taste so i looked it up out of curiosity and the hotel snob in me didn't care for the pics and reviews. There must be some good hotels in Melville...close to Huntington. Check out Trip Advisor. I always recommended the Hyatt Regacy in Hauppauge but not sure if that's too far

We stayed there last year and the rooms were nice but not amazing. They have a few different buildings and we were on the third floor of one with no elevator.
I would recommend the Inn at Fox Hollow as it’s closer to Huntington. The Hyatt is really nice as well and is less than 30 minutes from Huntington Village.

No to Danfords. lol
The Huntington Hilton is on 110. Don't know how nice the rooms are; but if its one night of sleep, and within reasonable distance, it should be good enough.
Nicer hotels near 110 & LIE Service Rd: The Sheraton in Plainview The Hilton in Plainview

Danfords is a def no no. the view and scenery is nice but umm... no
Hilton on 110 is great it is recently renovated actually. we stayed there 3 weeks ago for a wedding. albeit we live in Babylon. just made it a date night/sleep over from the adult teenagers. Marriott 110/off the LIE service rd is aslo nice. Marriott's Courtyard and Townplace suites on 110 are also new and nice.
In plainview the hotels are nice over there also Four seasons, sheraton are nice.
In central islip by the courts Residence Inn and Courtyard are new and nice.

Yeah it's def a lot more than 30 mins. I agree with the others, it's a bit run down on the inside . They must spend their entire maintenance budget keeping up the exterior lol. When we spent the night, I was shocked at the condition of the room. I thought it would be so nice judging by the outside.
