If you want to judge a school but how they are handling this, mine must be the worst in the nation.
We have no work. No homework No classwork No assignments No google class or whatever the heck that is No communication of any kind from the teacher(though DD's wasn't much of a communicator all year long to be honest)
We get emails and robo calls from the Superintendent with updates. In his last one he said no work will be assigned for these 2 weeks as they are vacation and snow days.
I think we are the only ones on the planet with zero for the kids to have to do. They are just sitting and wasting away.
My home district is the same. It seems they're still assessing the best way to assign work but nothing is required the first two weeks since it's vacation. I'm fine with that since looking at the calendar, they won't get a single day off the rest of the year even if they don't go back. I can tell you your district has conference days today and tomorrow and teachers are working from home to get work together.
Yeah i am fine with it. I just feel like I'm doing something wrong or missing something since we are just sitting here with nothing. lol

I keep seeing some people saying the district is using vacation days or snow days. I have no idea what is happening with our district, if anything. They have not communicated that.
On Tuesday, most teachers had google classrooms up and running. My oldest is in 3rd grade and she has provided daily assignments. I'm concerned about the math because, right now, its Xtra Math 20 minutes a day, but it's not teaching him anything new and I sure can't teach him the math. I'm not sure what is going to happen with that.
My friend was telling me that as of Monday, her daughter, who is in middle school, has to sign in to homeroom at 7:10 am and will be on until 2:30 everyday. On like Zoom or something like that. She even has "band practice" after "school" on the computer!
