And this is on top of unemployment and paychecks? That is a crazy amount of money. A 16 year old would get $2,000 a month? Why?
Don’t know if this will pass as where is this money coming from?

HORRIBLE idea. This country is already bankrupt. And, teenagers need $2,000 a month?? I hope this is a joke. That will not help anything.

where are we getting all this money.
eveyone keeps saying we need all this stuff to survive now but whats going to happen when this is all over.
where are we getting the money to pay for all of this.
no 16 year old needs $2000 a month
this just as bad as just giving everyone an extra $600 a week (on top of regular unemployment) even if it means they are making more money then they were before all this happen. I now kids living with parents that were never making $900 a week that they never made to be with when they do not need it at all!!!!
but i know I have heard it plenty of times from people on here I just hate poor people because i feel we are just wasting money we don't even have to spend!!

I don’t agree with it at all. It’s not sustainable. I think we can figure out a way to help those who desperately need it during these times, if they can prove a need. In NY you have to have absolutely nothing and be scraping the bottom of the barrel to get assistance. No assets, retirement account, savings etc. You also have to report to job site to work off wall receive. I think we can provide food and housing vouchers (applied to rent or mortgage) for those in need during this time. Perhaps relax the requirement to get temporary assistance and don’t penalize people or require they pay it back during this time. I think there has to be a need. I certainly don’t think dolling out monthly amounts of $3k (amount I would allegedly get under this plan) is going to do the economy or anyone else any favors. It will give people an excuse to loaf around...

There is no way this will pass. But it was Andrew Yang’s platform, so good for him getting this on the national stage. We would get $3000 a month if this passed. I would pay down my mortgage and buy stocks. If it was for a year, that would be a substantial amount of money for so many families. I don’t think it will go anywhere in the Senate though.

The government should just let us all quit our jobs and just pay us to sit home and watch the trash on Netflix that Americans hold so dear.
Apparently the government has unlimited funds to do so.
This way we can just keep the economy shut down indefinitely while we hide for 3 to 5 years and make up trendy hashtags like #alonetogether #staysafestayhome and post pictures of our shittty home cooked #quarantinemeals and sew our own masks out of old pairs of underwear.
Sounds reasonable.

Me too. I wanted to cry when I heard the extension to May 15. I'm getting anxiety having to work from home with the kids plus homeschool them.
