Cuomo’s New Magical Date
Last week, they said the date was extended until June 13th unless you meet the 7 criteria. Several regions have met the criteria and are opening up today. One region is 10 minutes from my house.

I don’t think this is trues I watched his entire briefing yesterday and this was not mentioned.
Pause expires today, but you can’t reopen until you meet the 7 metrics.

Cuomo’s New Magical Date
This seems like misinformation. The state website removed all information about PAUSE. It just says coronavirus is spreading and to wear a mask.

Cuomo’s New Magical Date
I think the title of the article is misleading.
The article states you can start reopening once you hit the 7 metrics and that a number of regions are opening today.

Re: Cuomo’s New Magical Date
As of May 13 Long Island was on day 1 of 14 day decline in hospitalizations. Assuming that moves forward and we don't start over, and that we meet other requirements, we would re-open for Phase 1 around May 27.. Each phase has at least 2 weeks in between.

Re: Cuomo’s New Magical Date
I saw a few news articles published saying that some parts of NY can reopen but that we are extended to June 13.

Cuomo’s New Magical Date
I was going to say, if any region meets the metrics before June 13th, they can reopen before. This is just preventing those regions who have not met the metrics yet from starting up businesses.

Yes, that’s how I took it as well. From the article...
“On Wednesday, however, Cuomo said four New York regions met his criteria to begin lifting lockdowns. In his order Thursday, he said certain regions that met public-health and safety metrics would be eligible for reopening.
"The Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, Mohawk Valley, the North Country, and Central NY are ready to begin Phase 1 of reopening tomorrow," Cuomo said in a tweet on Thursday. "The others can be UN-PAUSED the moment they hit their benchmarks."”
——-
If anyone cares, read the whole article not just the title.

I agree. A lot of news providers tend to do that, probably to sentionalize the article itself.

Re: Cuomo’s New Magical Date
The executive order extends the PAUSE for NY until 5/28 with the exception of certain regions. Only the regions and industries specifically mentioned are un-PAUSEd. However, it allows that if the metrics are hit, a region can become un-PAUSEd.
It also extends the use of masks until 6/13 and provides worker protections that were put in place because of the PAUSE until 6/13 and gives him the right to extend the PAUSE and everything else past 6/13.

Re: Cuomo’s New Magical Date
It absolutely is extended. It says ""Executive Order 202.28, which extended the provisions of Executive Orders 202.3, 202.4, 202.5, 202.6, 202.7, 202.8, 202.10, 202.11, 202.13, and 202.14 which each closed or otherwise restricted public or private businesses or places of public accommodation, and which required postponement or cancellation of all non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason (e.g. parties, celebrations, games, meetings or other social events), which together constitute New York On PAUSE, is hereby continued until 11:59 p.m. on May 28, 2020, unless later amended or extended by a future Executive Order;"

Yup - until MAY 28, not as stated above until June 13.

He said it's extended until 5/28 but regions can reopen before that date if they meet the metrics.
