UPS live map
So UPS has a new feature: Follow Your Delivery on a Live Map
Is that really necessary? Who thinks of these things? The estimated delivery time is between 2 and 6 pm. They want me to watch for 4 hours on a map? If they want to be more helpful, they should use all of that technology to narrow down the delivery window.

UPS live map
It isn't new, but it is only available for certain deliveries it seems. I'm not sure how it is justified, maybe the vendor??

Re: UPS live map
Amazon has been doing that for quite a while now, including when it's on UPS trucks.
I find it very useful. I glance at it, and it says "10 stops away", so I know it will be a while. When it's one stop away, I can hide in the house to make sure I keep my Social Distance when they drop it off.

Re: UPS live map
Another wasteful thing I can't understand is how the Post Office now takes pictures of all your mail and emails you with what is coming in the next few days. Why? Why do I need to know ahead of time? Why can't I just be surprised like in the good old days?

Yes. I love it. I live in a development that has it's own dedicated amazon trucks and drivers..They are wonderful and I love the track your package feature.

So weird, I thought it was new because I never got an email about it before and I get UPS deliveries almost everyday. I got 6 emails today with the 6 packages I have coming (all different stores). I live pretty far east though so maybe it's just new to my area. I still find it pointless lol. The truck passed my road twice already, so it said my delivery is soon, but then I check and it's far away again on the other side of town. So bizarre.

I really like the informed delivery. It’s great knowing what mail we are coming home to when we’re on vacation. It’s also peace of mind when I know certain checks or important documents are coming to the house that day.

I had a case of liquor delivered and I got 3 notifications that someone 21+ had to sign for it. When I saw the truck pull up I put on a mask and opened the door, but the driver looked scared and wouldn't walk up the walkway. I asked if I had to sign and he said no, which I'm assuming was because of the virus, but I felt so bad for opening the door. I walked away and he finally came up and put it down. It bothers me I didn't hide like I normally lol I just wanted to make sure I got my drinks.

Exactly, they scan my junk mail too, like obvious junk mail postcards. The stuff that goes right in the trash. Like why did I need to know that was coming? So weird.

I got a few deliveries of alcohol through UPS recently and didn't have to sign. You always used to have to sign for it when it was booze. I guess it's because they want it to be contactless for now. This is a great time for those under 21 who want booze delivered. Funny your driver looked scared, I was gardening out front last weekend and the Amazon van pulled up, and the driver walked right up to me and handed me my package. He didn't have a mask on either.

I couldn't believe it! I left that encounter feeling like I did something wrong lol. It's funny you had the opposite experience with someone who didn't have a mask on!
OMG could you imagine being a teen now? We used to drink whatever we could get... like cheap 40s & peppermint schnapps. Between edibles and the booze choices now... these kids don't know how good they have it

UPS live map
I love all of the advancements made to track packages & mail through the post office. I have mail order prescriptions which cost me thousands of dollars a month & I no longer have to worry about when they will be delivered or make sure FH or I am home to sign for them (pre-COVID).

I love the advanced notice of what is coming in my mail. If you dint get a check or something important you will have that back up. You can always unsubscribe so you don’t get it everyday.

Yeah I don't get it but my husband does. He's obsessed with it. Then he worries for 3 days if he sees something from the IRS or something. Lol

UPS live map
I like the advanced notice from the USPS. My mail comes very late in the day, so I will know very early, if I will need to deal with something. (Sometimes it stresses me out for the day too LOL, but that's me)
I also know if something doesn't get delivered. That has never happened, but it sometimes won't get delivered for 2-3 days. Hmmm I wonder if this increases the likelihood we will get our mail actually delivered (once it is scanned)

I bought some stamps on the USPS website like a year and a half ago and I've been getting the emails since then. I'm sure there's a way to stop them, I just haven't spent the time to do it.

Re: UPS live map
Guilty! I did use it when it was offered.
I had bought my husband a push golf cart which was a few hundred dollars. So I didn't want to be out just in case it was delivered.
He was going to play golf that day and I was hoping it was going to get delivered before he left. It actually came later from the time they had originally put down.

They scan your mail regardless so it's just sending an email... I like it so I know what's coming and what's supposed to come.
