If you have trouble quoting...
please follow these instructions:
1) Click "quote" in the bottom right of the box of the comment that you want to quote.
2) Leave the text that appears in the reply window as is. Click to the right of the closed bracket (]), and then click return two times.

Re: If you have trouble quoting...
I always wondered how to quote 2 different posters.....
Does it work the same way ?
You'd think I'd know this by now

As far as I know, this is a bit more complicated.
Here is my way:
1) Click "quote" on the first person's comment that you want to quote, and then copy that (control+C).
2) Click back to the original thread and click quote on the second person's comment that you want to quote.
3) Leave the text that appears in the reply window as is. Click to the right of the closed bracket (]), and then click return two times.
4) Paste the first quote (control+V) into your comment window.
5) Repeat step 3.
6) Type your comment.
7) Click "Post Reply"
Sorry if that seems convoluted. If anyone has a less difficult way, please let me know.

Maybe try putting your comment before the quote?

You can do this, it's just annoying when the quote is long. Hold your finger down in the text until the bubble appears, then (still holding yourfinger down) move it down to scroll to the end.

I dont think its that ppl dont know how to quote, its just when you're on your phone or ipad sometimes its harder to see your cursor and that screws it up. I dont know I cant explain what Im trying to say, but I know how to quote and sometimes it gets screwed up.

Re: If you have trouble quoting...
I'm not at all trying to be snarky (seriously) but it would be really helpful (at least to me...maybe I'm the only one who feels this way) if those who have trouble quoting on an ipad/iphone didn't try to quote. Maybe try putting an @ sign before the screenname of the person you want to quote? I feel (again, JMO) that it would be easier to understand that than trying to decipher a misquoted comment. When the commenter's comment gets mixed up with the quoted comment, it can make the entire thread difficult to understand. Again, I'm really not trying to be rude, just making a suggestion for a way to keep things easier to understand.
ETA jgl also gives a great explanation as to how to quote on an iphone/ipad above which seems to work for me on both devices.

I have to agree with this - if you can't quote, or have trouble doing it, don't. What's the point anyway if your message gets lost in the middle of someone else's? It's basically the same as typing qwertyuiop because it looks the same

Re: If you have trouble quoting...
@ emilylives, if it's that hard to decipher the mis quoted quote, just skip it...that's what I do OR if it's that important to you, then it's worth the extra 10 seconds it takes to figure it out...IMO.
Seriously, telling iPhone/iPad users how to respond... I sometimes feel like the LIF police are gonna come cancel my account if I screw something up...
And while we are at it... I think it's FAR more annoying when people have a million typos...what's next, ask people to please spell check there posts before posting?!?!

I also agree that it is frustrating. I ignore the post and move on.
