Where can I get carseat installed...
...in Nassau County. I will be out here when I deliver the baby and not in PA so it will be easier to make sure the car seat is installed properly out here in LI.

Please do NOT go to just any PD or FD!!
Take your car seat to be installed professionally -- this is not just at any firehouse, there is a list of actual professionals who are approved to do this. So many are NOT installed correctly.
This is more important than having LATCH or not.
Also if you have bucket seats in the back they WILL NOT be able to install the car seat correctly.
Here is a great website and a list of certified installers...

Most of the local Police Depts can do it. However, my DH is a police officer and only certain officer's have been trained to do the installation/checks, so you can call before you go to make sure that there is an officer on duty who can help you.

You can do it yourself, some people like to make sure its done correctly.

I agree. Usually there is at least one Police Officer trained to do this in the departments. You may have to go when they tell you to go, but it will get done. Just call your local PD and see what they say. If they dont do it, they should know who does.

We got ours installed at the State Police Station in Farmingdale. (Right off of 110)
You have to call them and make an appt. They have a officer that is specially trained and certified in installing them properly. He installs it for you as well as explains the process along the way . It is important for both you and your DH to go together.

Just bumping for anyone who might be interested. I just called and the next installation is at the Farmingdale State Police location is Saturday, September 22nd. I made an appt.
