Need help with oily/acne prone skin...

Please recommend the products you use daily. It seems like everything I use either doesn't work or is super expensive. So please tell me what you like! TIA

Re: Need help with oily/acne prone skin...

I have been using Clean and Clear Morning Burst cleanser for a while now - I really like it and I THINK it's helped my oily skin a little bit. As for other products, I use medicine prescribed by my dermatologist. If you're interested in that info, I'd be more than happy to share.

Re: Need help with oily/acne prone skin...

i have VERY oily skin!

*for moisturizer i use clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel and philosophy The Present primer , they work great together and keep my face shine free when i put on my makeup! go to sephora and ask for samples, they will make them up for you so you can try them before you buy.

*origins makes a toner that has powder in it, specifically for oily skin, it is great!

*pressed powder - clinique stay matte pressed powder

Re: Need help with oily/acne prone skin...

I'm very prone to breakouts, and I changed my regimen a while ago because even as I got older, I was still getting pimples. The salicylic acid / benzoyl peroxide combo is best (it's what Proactiv is, actually) but you have to be careful not to overdo it because overdrying your face seems to cause more irritation/pimples. So, I use the 2.5 % benzoyl peroxide and not the 10% Oxy or Clearisil. They work as well as each other, but the 10% dries your face more. And, I always used to say away from moisturizer because I figured that the dryer my face was, the more pimple-free it would be. Not so! My dermatologist told me: "It's moisture you're putting on your face, you're not slathering your face with grease." After trying out a bunch, I've found that the Olay actually makes my skin look better (smaller pores) right away.

Re: Need help with oily/acne prone skin...

I use Skin Ceuticals Alpha Hydroxy Cleanser and Fruit Tonic Toner (reccomended by my estetician) and spf 15 moisturizer. it works excellent for me and I found that going monthly for facials keeps my skin in check. It's a pain but it's the only thing that works. However, during the PMS time when AF is due, I will still break out occasionally but that is due to Hormones not anything else. I am thinking of going on the pill for that as well as my severe PMS. We'll see.

I use neutrogena acne prone soap in the morning. Almay clear complexion foundation. St. Ives facial scrub, and Neutrogena product at night.

My MIL turned me onto Isomers . It really helped my skin and my SIL skin. I had more combination with breakouts and my SIL has very very dry skin. I know it seems like a lot but the product does last a long time, It would last about 3-4 months for me because you don't need alot. Actually all the products on that line are excellent. My DH's aunt starting using it after she had a cancersous mole on her face remvoed. Her derm couldn't believe how much heathlier her skin was. She used this package along with a few other serums. The other beauty is that you have 30 day to try it and if you don't like it you get a full refund.

The Made from Earth Grapefruit Glycolic Scrub has actually helped my pores look smaller, which has been almost impossible with the other products I've used. I think I'm going to like this very much!

I use a biodynamic line by eminence..works great and is very good for your skin...Cleansers range from $45-$60 but well worth it.
