Need help planning.....
my son's 1st communion party.... I am having it at a KOC hall being as I got it for free and only have to pay a very small amount pp for bar.... anyway , I want to make it a little different with some unique things... I was thinking maybe like a candy bar and something different for favors and centerpieces..... Any ideas ladies???????????????

I think the candy bar is a great idea assuming you have alot of children attending.
Have you considered having a fondue station?
Chocolate w/marshmallows, pretzils, strawberries, Pineapples & bananas?
You can even do a cheese one with veggies on the side...

For DS's first birthday party, we had piles of candy as a part of the centerpieces on each table. We did a construction truck theme so every table had a truck with a few balloons tied to each. The candy was piled around each truck. I ordered candy cello bags from Oriental Trading Company and put a few on each table so people could take what they wanted with them. Here are pics of some of them:

and my favorite one!:
We got all the trucks REALLY cheap by buying them over the course of a few months. Everytime Amazon had a sale, we would snatch up a few I think the most we spent was $15? Some of them retail for as much as $75
