When did you decide to tell everyone....

you are pregnant? My first OB appointment is Wednesday, I'll be almost 8 weeks, we decide as long as everything was ok, we would tell our family after that appointment (extended family, immediate family already knows). We were going to wait until after the 1st trimester to tell friends and work, but I don't know if I can wait that long.........
So my question is, when did you feel comfortable telling the world you’re pregnant??

I told all my friends at about 7 weeks, I really thought that if something was to happen, these are the same people I would want support from.

We told most everyone around 10 weeks

I told my parents & my best friend right away. I knew I would need them if anything were to happen. We told DHs parents at around 8 weeks & everyone else slowly found out after my sono at 11 weeks.

I waited until 12 weeks with my 3rd pregnancy since I recently had a miscarriage. If I ever have another baby (not likely), I would never consider telling anyone (besides my parents maybe) before that point. Personal preference based on my experience.

We told my family really early on - at 5-6 weeks. But we were visiting the States and I couldn't not tell them while we were there. We told DH's family at Christmas at about 10 weeks. We had told various friends at various stages throughout - with some people it came up, with others (mostly my girlfriends) I needed to chat/ask questions, etc. Lots of those people already knew I had had a miscarriage earlier in the year.

I told my immediate work colleagues at 12 1/2 weeks after our scan, but I haven't told the entire organization yet. I might post something on facebook in about two weeks and then EVERYONE will know!

My mom: As soon as we got the BFP.

My dad and in-laws: A few weeks later.

Work: I told after my 8 week sonogram since we saw two heartbeats and all looked good. I was sick at work all the time, and some people were starting to guess anyway. I didn't report it to HR until 13 weeks though.

Friends: Various times between 8.5 weeks and 14 weeks, depending on how close we are.

Told my family right after I got the BFP and had told DH

Told DH family at about 6.5 weeks (he was more comfortable waiting a little bit)

Told friends at 12 weeks, a few slightly before that.

I waited because I was very paranoid of miscarriage but I will say it was very difficult not telling people. I had a very rough 1st trimester and keeping it a secret led to feelings of isolation. It was really hard not to be able to talk about how terrible I was feeling with anyone other than DH and my immediate family.

We told our families 4 days after I got BFP & then the extended families on Christmas Eve. Since we went through IVF, it was hard to hide from everyone. I am currently 9.5 weeks

The day after I home tested +, my good friend had a miscarriage at 6.5/7 weeks so I wanted to wait until at least then to be safe plus out of respect for her loss. Had this not happen, I most likely would have told immediate family right away.

Told a few friends at about 9 weeks at a gtg as I knew I would not see them for a while in person. Told our parents just after at 9.2 weeks and told siblings the week after on Thanksgiving to have them all together. Then drips and drabs of who our parents told and friends we saw. Our Christmas card had 11 week sono pic and "we're expecting a bundle of joy in July" which served as an announcement for beyond extended family and friends.

Oh, our Home Depot kitchen cabinet guy knew at 6 weeks! I was excited to tell someone and wanted to give him fair warning for any decision making dilemas!

DH of course was the 1st to know, then we told our families a few days later on thanksgiving day and I was only about 5 weeks then. After we saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks I told everyone encluding my job. I couldn't keep it in and I wanted my friends and family to know in case something happen and I needed them for support.

My SIL and BIL and their kids were over when I got my BFP and I was running around like a maniac so they and DH knew immediately.

We told parents right away and siblings and extended family at 8 weeks after we saw the heartbeat.

Close friends we told after 12 weeks when we saw the baby moving around, and at 15 weeks we still haven't told other friends or people that we don't see that much. We are thinking after the next appointment we will really go public.

I am almost 8 weeks and there is NO hiding this belly....I think most people I work with know but I have not told them directly, KWIM?

I didn't tell anyone until I was 12 weeks - not a soul.

I told my mom and sister right away (or just about). We are waiting to tell the rest of the immediate family until about 8 weeks, after our first ultrasound. we want to make sure the bean looks healthy. as for work, well tell them after the first trimester is over and/or it becomes obvious!

Very early! 4 wks 5 days for most family and friends, 5 wks for work. We couldn't keep it in, we are way too excited!

We were about 6-7 weeks with this one. I had a MC and wanted to be sure eerything was good. With the first, we told everyone right away.

We told immediate family as soon as we got our BFP. Close friends soon after that. It has been hard for me to contain the news so at 7weeks today, most people at work know.

We told friends after we saw the little heart beat at our first sonogram. I am waiting to tell work until about 15 weeks, unless I have a belly before then.

Family & friends at 9.5 weeks. Work 12 weeks.

TOTALLY crashing, but I just wanted to share that someone in my immediate family waited 6 MONTHS (yes months, not weeks) to tell us she was expecting. She had a m/c last year at about 10 weeks so they wanted to wait til it was "safe" - with the one she lost, she had told everyone right away.
