Anyone belong to a motoring plan for roadside assistance like AAA or Amoco?
I am looking into joining a motoring plan. I used to be under my Dad's AARP membership but since I am over 25 I am no longer covered. Just wondering if you have a plan and who is it with? Thanks!

i belong to AAA, and the amount it cost me to sign up was well worth the 2x i've locked myself out of my car and the flat tire they changed for me in 10 degree weather!

DH and I both have AAA. I've used them a couple of times for flats, and they are very helpful!

PLUS... AAA will get you discounts on some hotels and car rentals. Ive also used them to plan trips they send you maps and highlite the way you should go.

We both have AAA -- I haven't actually used it yet the peace of mind it gives me is worth the $45/year. You never know.....

me too I think one of these days though, DH and I may sign up so he'll have one too. I had to call them this morning b/c his car was dead, so I had to stay there with him since it was my card. As a side note, can I just say how much I HATE cars!!

I am looking into AAA and the only problem I see with the plan is if you need to be towed it is free for the first 3 miles and then $3.50 per mile after that. That can add up to alot. The Amoco/BP plan includes 100 miles of towing.

AAA has a premium plan of some sort that allows for towing longer distances. It's more expensive and has more benefits then the regular card but I don't remember the details.
We have AAA and like the security of knowing we have someone to call in emergencies and the discounts more then makes up for the membership fees.

Wow almost everyone has AAA. Yeah I read about the premier plan but you can only join that after being a member for 3 years which doesn't make a lot of sense.
