Mini-van moms with 3 kids
How do you have your carseats arranged? I was thinking I should put the two older kids all the way in the back, one on each side. And the baby in the infant car seat in one of the middle row seats. I think this makes the most sense, so I can get in on the opposite side and get to the back to help out the older kids. They can just about strap themselves in at this point - Billy needs help with the lower part of the harness, between the crotch.
Also, would the baby go behind the driver seat or behind the passenger seat?
TIA!

Re: Mini-van moms with 3 kids
I have a 8 seater Sienna and for regular day-to-day usage, we have removed the middle seat in the 2nd row. The seats are set up where my 2 older kids are in the 3rd row, each at the window. My younger guy is in the seat behind the driver's seat. I usually have the seat behind the passenger seat folded down so I can lean in and help my daughter with her straps if she needs it. This set up also makes it easy for anyone to get in or out of the minivan without disturbing the other kids, like if your baby is sleeping and you drive your other kids the school, they don't have to climb past the baby to get out. Re: Mini-van moms with 3 kids
What does your manual say?
Is it possible that you can put all three in hte middle row?
I don't like third rows, and they really aren't made for carseats

The middle row is just two seats with the "aisle" in between....

Re: Mini-van moms with 3 kids
When I worked as a Nanny, I had a 7 week old, 16 month old and a 5 year old. I originally put the newborn in the infant seat behind the drivers seat, the 16 month old in a forward facing seat on the other side, and the 5 year old in a booster in the back. It got to be a PITA. The 5 year old had a hard time getting out of the car when I dropped her off at school. She couldn't get past the infant seat at all and the 16 month old's legs were constantly being bent all over the place when she tried to get out on that side. So I took out the drivers side middle row seat and put the the infant seat in the back row with the 5 year old. It worked out great. All I had to do was click her in the base. When the baby got bigger and switched to a toddler seat, I moved her back to the middle row.
