40,000 posts will take a few weeks. We could do a few thousand posts in a day. I think we could get to 40 k in two weeks. However Ron notoriously pulls/changes the post count about now, so who knows if we are really at 40k or less....

I think it's pretty close. I usually keep an eye on the count, and I haven't noticed a significant change recently. Then again, if Ron only changed it by about 10,000, I wouldn't notice that, but it would make a huge difference in when we hit 7 million....

on average we do 4,000 posts per day. So as of now we will hit 7 mil in two weeks.

Because if (when) we know the exact count, everyone goes into a posting frenzy, trying to be "the one". However, if (when) they change the count, we aren't posting "anything and everything" since we think we still have X number of posts to go, so the X million post is usually a legitimate post.
