Photoshop moms
Quick question - I am not so great at photoshop but I am trying to make DS's birthday invite. I made our holiday invite but I forgot how LOL. I have started the card but now I have some clip art that I want to put on it. The clip art has a white background - its not like a brush. Is there any easy way to make the white background the same color as the card or do I have to edit it? I don't know if I am explaining this right!

Re: Photoshop moms
You need to put the clip art in as its own layer, then use the magic selection tool to select the white part of it and delete that so it becomes clear. If you do it in its own window, you can see when the white is gone because it'll look like a gray checkerboard. Then you can just select all and copy it and paste it into a new layer in your original piece. When you end up saving as a jpg, it'll flatten all the layers together once it's perfect.
If that doesn't make sense, lmk and I'm happy to do it for you.

Re: Photoshop moms
You are the best...Thank you so much!!!! Is there a way to do this with backgrounds to pictures too? Every time I try to do this to a picture it takes off half the person!

Re: Photoshop moms
The magic wand tool doesn't work as well on photos of people, but what you can do is use the selector that you click to outline the points to be selected instead and very carefully outline the person or part by part go around the person to delete the background (so it's easy to step back if you mess up). I usually zoom in super close and try to get along the edges. That's actually how I do partial b&w pictures too by cutting up the layers and b&wing part of it and leaving another layer in color. I don't know if that's clear at all lol.
