has anyone tried the nasty stuff to prevent thumb/finger sucking?
it's recommended age is 3 years old but i am wondering if anyone has tried to earlier and also did it work?

Yes, I've tried Mavala Stop. It was working for a week or 2 but then DS started to fight through the gross taste & began to suck his thumb again. He sill sucks his thumb & he's 25 months. I think I will try it again though.

We used Mavala Stop , just a tiny bit at the tips because she REALLY hated it.
ETA: It was a little before 3, I was glad we waited because she could then use a fork and spoon well. The taste was so bad she couldn't even eat with her fingers.
Used thumb guards at night, that got her to stop within 3 weeks.
