· Think outside the box: And, into some books, magazines, and online. Find photos of some of your favourite models and practices some of their most popular poses. Just remember, don’t do anything you find offensive or aren’t comfortable with.
· Get glowing: Enhance your “appearance” and the atmosphere with some selective and creative lighting. If you’re having photos done by a professionally you can ask them about candles and other ambient lighting options.
· Practice makes perfect: Pose for the mirror before you pose for the camera. And, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again for a look and image you’re most comfortable with.
· Stay true to you: If you’re somewhat of a “tomboy” or an avid sports fan, don’t try to be a sultry siren. Instead play up your own attributes. Remember, giddiness and “innocence” can be very sexy.
· Have fun: Give yourself permission to enjoy the experience, again, even if initially you feel silly. Once you get photos in your possession try not to be too “critical”. Instead, store them a way for a few weeks or a few days, it’s likely you’ll like them and yourself more, after you’ve let some time pass by.
