How do you spell party? Well, probably these days, it’s more like H-O-M-E, F-A-M-I-L-Y, or C-O-R-P-O-R-A-T-E.
With that said, the good news is you don’t necessarily have to compromise your sense of style of savvy sophistication and style. In fact the holidays are the perfect time to get decked out.
1. All That Glitters: Glow with the flow this holiday season with a hint of body shimmer. But experts remind all those dazzling divas to make sure not to confuse body glitter with shimmer. They note that while body glitter is made up of metallic flake, shimmer offers more subtle sophistication via micro-particles that are barely visible and merely add a bit of iridescence to your skin for a “natural”, healthy glow.
2. Get Your Hair In Tip-TOP Shape: Keep up with the latest hair trends by putting your luxurious locks up in one of this season’s elegant up-dos. Professionals point out that simply tying hair back into one of those popular ponytails (or buns) are classic and easy. Consider using a shine serum on damp hair (or tresses that are almost dry) before blow-drying to reduce the frizz and add luster.
3. Cut Back On Excess: Especially when it comes to excessively long nails. Instead experts suggest keeping nails short and neatly trimmed and polished in some of the season’s most opulent hues. Keep in mind that darker colors show more of your nails’ imperfections, so you’ll have to have the time and patience required to “get it right”. Professionals point out the increasing popularity of rounded, square shaped (nails) in festive reds and mauves.
4. Become A Lady In Red (Lipstick): Red is no doubt one of the most popular shades of the season, and that includes lipstick. This year’s red hot look is lightly brushed on red lipstick, delicately brushed on with fingertips and highlighted with some glamorous gloss. Accentuate your look with some luxurious lashes, a hint of blusher and fabulous fingers (nails) for a holiday look that “simply” haute.
5. Go For “Subtle” Scentsationalism: “Captivate” your “audience” with some of the season’s most sensational scents. Choose scents that have a powerful impact but are not overpowering. Stick with fragrances such as orange blossom, vanilla, etc.
