I’m a clean as you go type of gal. So, from putting laundry away as it’s washed, dried and ironed to cleaning dishes as I go along preparing a meal, I like to have everything in its proper place before going to bed at night or at least before leaving for work in the morning. The neat, clean atmosphere, to me, is especially relaxing and inviting and a great way to “cap off the day” or “kick of the evening after a long, hard day at the office”.
Still, sometimes we may be giving ourselves a false sense of “security”, especially when it comes to a seemingly spotless kitchen.
It’s likely most of us have seen the commercials and infomercials about all the bacteria that sponges and cleaning cloths can leave behind. And, while there’s a lot of truth too the “rumors”. But, with that said, the experts note that you “can” wipe out germs with a sponge by wetting it and zapping it in the microwave for about a minute, or by letting sponges and dishcloths dry out between each use and frequently washing them with liquid bleach to get rid of residue and germs.
