vertical blinds or regular blinds?

which do you think looks better, which is easier to clean?
the house we are buying currently has vertical blinds but they are taking them... so we'll have naked windows when we move in..

any recommendations on what to get and where to buy from?

No recommendations on where to get them but I personally am not a fan of vertical blinds - looks very institutional to me. I'd go with regular blinds in a great material.

That said, window dressings can make a room. I'd personally get cheapy somethings just for when you move in so that when you decorate the rooms, you won't feel guilty going out for new ones that may best suit the new room.
