Honestly I just swiffer. I have 5 dogs though, and I have yet to find a vacuum that will not explode after 3 months.
Also, I have hardwood, so it is a little easier for me.

Roomba during the week.
Merry maids every other week has been the only thing that keeps me sane with all the dog hair.
My next dog will be hairless.

The purple Dyson for animal hair. Ever since we got it, it's sooo much better. Our carpet is royal blue again, instead of gray/blue.
It's a lot of money, but I highly recommend it. It will keep you sane.
