Favorite brand of travel guide?
Fodor's, Lonely Planet, Frommer's
Do you have a general favorite?
I usually stick to Lonely Planet- no paid advertisements in there.

Re: Favorite brand of travel guide?
The Let's Go series is geared for younger travelers and I used it a lot while I was in Europe. Although it's young, it does suggest great things to do (many affordable) and some that are off the beaten track but worth checking out!

Re: Favorite brand of travel guide?
frommers.
When I was backpacking with my friends we brought frommers and lets go. It seemed every college backpacker had lets go and all the hostels were slim pickings! We went with the frommer's recs, and they were not only for a slightly older crowd, but nicer accomodations.
I have been loyal since then!
