Powdered formula feeders

I usually make all the bottles at night for the next day, so I just have to grab them out of the fridge when I need them... What do you do?

I have a jug of bottled water and powder out on my counter next to bottles and make it as needed... approx 5oz every 3 hours.
We are on the go alot during the day so its easier to not premake them in case we our out.
I love my three section powdered formula carrier that goes in the diaper bag I would be lost without that and my small bottled waters.

Re: Powdered formula feeders

I bought powdered formula but I've never used it. I'm only using the ready to feed formula. Do you think the powdered formula is different from the ready to feed formula?

This is exactly what we did Chat Icon
My formula holder had 4 sections so it went even farther!

Re: Powdered formula feeders

I use ready to feed when we are home and powder when we go out. After I wash the bottles at night, I'll make a few with the RTF and put in the fridge for the next day. When we go out I put water in the bottle and the powder in the 3 part compartment container. I mix it as needed so I don't have to worry about refigeration.

Stefanie, when Nate was on Enfamil he would not go between RTF and powder. The powder always seemed so much more watery. But on Similac he switches between the two without a problem.

Re: Powdered formula feeders

When you make the bottles as you need them, do you think the baby is more gassy because you have to shake the bottle up? That was one of the reasons I started doing them the night before... The air bubbles settle over night.
Thanks

I started the powdered formula b/c logan would spit up a lot when I gave him ready made... I think because it was a little more concentrated? But if Jared is fine with ready-made then thats great!!! One less step for you Chat Icon

Re: Powdered formula feeders

The RTF fomula is good, but I feel the powder will last longer. I'm going through a bottle of the RTF formula every day and a half. I have two powdered containers...I might as well try them.
