Flour Question
I was looking at a recipe and it called for 1¾ cups cake flour.
Is there a difference in cake flour vs. all purpose flour?
TIA.

Re: Flour Question
I don't beleive there is. I'm pretty sure they mean the same as "all purpose".

Re: Flour Question
YES!! If a recipe calls for cake flour youmust use cake flour.. like Presto or Swans Down. All purpose flour is different.
I am a big cook/baker... so I know...

Re: Flour Question
If a recipe call for cake flour its so it will make a lighter fluffier cake. All Purpose is a bit heavier.
But they can be used interchangably and/or you can make AP more like cake flour. It all just depends if you want to follow the recipe to the 'T'

Re: Flour Question
Thanks I'm glad I asked.
The photo of the dessert that I was interested in making does look light and fluffy.
