I LOVE London. Haven't done Paris yet.

If you do London, I recommend going to the Tower of London Ceremony of the Keys It's the nightly locking down of the Tower of London, which the Beefeaters have done the same way forever and really cool. They take you all over the tower after it's closed. You have to apply for tix in advance and definately be on time, once the gate is closed they don't let anyone in. But they let you out later - no sleeping in the cells or anything. Chat Icon

Re: vacation advice???

they all offer totally different 'things' in a vacation, so i guess it depends on what you want to do (cruise is good for relaxing by the pool with a little sightseeing/excursions, bahamas is okay.. again, good for gettingdrunk and relaxation... europe is defintely for sightseeing, culture, and partying....)

i'd choose europe... but thats jsut because its where i want to go next, too! Chat Icon

If you do tropical in the summer, go to the Greek Isles. Mykonos had beautiful beaches, crystal clear water and lots of nightlife. Awesome vacation!

Re: vacation advice???

London is fab, but March will be very very cold...I would suggest May, the weather is beautiful in Springtime in England. And if you want Vegas, come to Manchester, this morning we won the right to build the biggest casino in the UK...won over the Milennium Dome.

And if you want some musicy/clubby things to do in London, there are tons of different things going on every night, gigs, clubs, and just great stuff to do.

See I am sick in the way that I'd rather go there in the cold than during tourist season. I remember we went there one year in January & got caught in a hail storm at Stonehenge. Hail the size of softballs. One broke my friends cameraChat Icon It actually snowed in London during that trip too. I think it was in 1999.

I don't think you are sick, but one of the best thing about London (or most British cities for that matter) is the amazing parks that city dwellers have at their disposal! You don't get to enjoy them in March. And its not just cold, its wet. So while you are cold, you are moist!!! I don't think that May is tourist season yet really, thats more June/July/August...when British people start to go on their holidays!

Well that is true. And then if you go to Trafalgar Square you are wet, cold & covered in pigeon pooChat Icon
I went in October once instead of my normal Winter trip. The tube was packed with French & German tourists, and the lines at the museum and the aquarium were ridiculous. BUT it was warm & not so soggy

you can do something beachy anytime!
THis is a trip you will always remember!
hotels in London I remember being very expensive-and extremely small! if you have a week, Id do 3 in london, then take the train overnight to Paris&spend 3 days there! Paris is beautiful in the winter!
