Anyone pack lunch for their DH?

There is no place close by for my DH to grab a quick lunch while he is at work so he takes food with him everyday. He has been taking mostly frozen meals. Any suggestions for a few simple things I can make big batches of and freeze for him to take.

I refuse to make him a sandwich in the morning.... Maybe I'm a bad wife but I feel I already have 1 child to take care of in the morning.

I usually pack up leftovers and he takes it from the nite before or a sandwich, I make it the nite before.... he takes pasta, meatsauce, tacos, hamburgers, chicken, cold cut sandwiches etc. HTH

How about making soup and freezing it in 1 serving size containers along with a sandwich?

I make lunch for him everyday but he takes 2 sandwiches! I usually make them the night before! He has no way of heating things up!

oh he takes leftovers all the time....

pasta w/ sausage or meatballs in sauce
sandwiches when we have cold cuts
roasted chicken w/ rice
sausage & peppers....
chili is always good
picadillo w/ rice

basically anything that can be put in a container and microwaved!!!

since buying the house, we agreed to ease dh into taking lunch= otherwise he was spending almost 100 a week on FOOD for lunch.

so, 3 days a week he gets a large sandwich.

maybe soon i'll start giving him microwave meals. i think he might like those.

or maybe soup. that is a good idea too.

but i dont mind making it for him.
it saves us money and dh gives the excuse that no one makes a sandwich like me!

usually he takes leftovers - pasta is great, easy.

recently i've bought those travel soups and he likes that, easy to heat up

I make sandwiches, on this job he has no microwave, or I would make extra and pack them into servings for him to heat up......

WE both take lunch so we usually take turns or split the duty (one of us makes sandwiches the other gets together all the other parts of the lunch). It works well! Plus, we always do it the night before otherwise I would never get out the door.

Nope, I'm not his mother. I hardly have time to make myself lunch. He makes himself a sandwich in the mornings.

since i stay home now, i make dinner for myself and he takes leftovers. i usually make stews, pasta and in the mornings i make a sandwich.

I guess I'll try to step it up a notch and cook a larger dinner so he can take leftovers in the morning.

I make DH two sandwiches for lunch everyday. He works in Manhattan so for him to get a sandwich would be .
I make them at night. He also brings a can or bottle of soda or something.


He is allowed to get coffee and a muffin in the am if he wants.

DH is weird, he won't take leftovers! Only sandwhiches. Either PB&J or coldcuts. Sometimes a can of soup. If I'm preparing my lunch then I'll prepare his as well and if he's doing his he'll do mine. Whoever does it first just does both!

I pack him pasta or leftover dinner from the night before. Perdue also makes pre-cooked, baked chicken breasts that are really good. Sometimes I throw that in a container with some frozen veggies.

DH works for a small company in a house. They have a full size kitchen. I usually buy him a pound of cold cuts and a loaf of bread and he brings it to work and makes sandwiches for the week.

My FH is on site most of the time with no way to heat stuff up. But he is a creature of habit and ALWAYS likes the same lunch so I always make the SAME thing..

Roast Chicken and Cheese or Tuna on Rye
Tomatoes (packed in a seperate baggie so they don't get the bread soft).
A Dannon yogurt
A MacIntosh Apple

Every once in a while I will buy him a special sweet snack... he loves swiss rolls.

I have a microwave at work and I always pack myself leftovers. Or I will make a salad and bring tuna or salmon and drizzle it with lemon juice and olive oil and add a little salt and pepper.

DH or I will pack up leftovers for both of us for lunch 3 times a week. The other 2 days we get take away from a local place. There is a street market by my work that has Ethopian curry, so i love it and will not take leftovers that day.
