What vacations have you done in the US?
We are thinking to something domestic during spring break, since the Caribbean is not within out budget right now.
any ideas?

AZ is an idea. I went to ASU so I am sorta familiar with AZ. I would love to take DH there, he has never been.

~ California - San Francisco, Muir Woods, Napa & Sonoma Valley's - Stayed at Hotel Vintage Court in Union Sq, SF
~ Key West, FL - thought it was "eh"
~ Las Vegas, NV - don't get the Vegas-hype
I've been up and down the east coast...I love Vermont & Maine...Washington DC & Boston...Atlanta is a fun town as is Savannah and Hilton Head, SC...Louisiana was fun too.
Outside of the US but still close by....I LOVED Montreal. Was a quick plane ride and Old Montreal was very European - outdoor cafes, cobblestone roads, great food.

We loved Arizona. We stayed in Phonnix I think but went to Scottsdale and the Grand Canyon (long drive but worth it).
I've done California a million times. It's always fun to stay in one city and drive north. San Diego is beautiful, LA is LA. Laguna Beach is amazing, Santa Barbara...
Key West is nice- still in the US but sorta tropical-ish!

We flew into Phoenix and rented a car. We stayed in Phoenix for two days and checked out Tempe and Scottsdale. Near phoenix we stayed at a great resort - the Legacy Golf Resort. We then drove to Sedona. I dont remember the name of the place we stayed in Sedona - so probably nothing great - but we loved the area. We did the pink jeep tour which was awesome, hiked around, and shopped some. We were supposed to do a sunrise air balloon ride but it was too windy so they canceled it.

when ever we go to miami for 3 days- we spend more then if we went to mexico for 7 days

I agree! Montreal is beautiful and gives a European feel for much less $$.
And I have to say, even though everyone else has already said it, San Francisco.
I'd love to go to Chicago, but I haven't been, so I can't really recommend it yet.

I know, but air fare prices are killing us. We can only travel the beginning of April because it is the only time we are off together, until my husband finishes his residency in November.

I agree. The US vacations IMO are more expensive than the caribbean.
