I don't know what is considered the "best" but I have been on 4 cruises -all different cruiselines and we are going on another in a month and we are doing another royal..
All were different, and all had different things to offer- so I think it depends on what you are looking for
PS- I have been on: Royal Princess Carnival Celebrity

Travel & Leisure magazine rate Seabourn and Crystal as the best cruise lines for the last few years. I think they're both

Re: Best Cruise Liner??
My parent's have been on several different lines.
Right now they are on a 2 week cruise on Celebrity. And they are supposed to be one of the best. My mom called me and is not that impressed. She said it is an older crowd (60+). The room is nice but they have the 2nd highest suite. My Aunt & Uncle are on it too and got a room 2 steps down and said it is soo small.
Their favorite is Royal Caribbean.

Re: Best Cruise Liner??
I've only cruised Royal Caribbean (just the way things worked out) and were really happy with them. I liked cruising on the newer/larger boats better than the smaller ones.
I have a friend who will only cruise Princess and likes them a lot. ILs just cruised them last month and were really happy.

Re: Best Cruise Liner??
I think it all is based on personal preference. I have been on 3 cruises including my honeymoon. These are the lines we did: Princess Disney Norweigan
We liked Princess the best. Got the best service & best selection of food!!!

Re: Best Cruise Liner??
If you are talking best cruise line you want crystal or seaborn. But those are not considered mass market lines.
The top of the mass market line is Celebrity.

Crystal, Seaborn, Regent Seven seas (which use to be Radisson Seven Seas) and Cunard are all luxary cruse lines.
I am a Royal Fan though.
