Good Pre-Gym Snacks?

Do you eat anything before the gym? I ususally go after work and I'd like to eat something about an hour before to give me some energy.

Re: Good Pre-Gym Snacks?

My trainer said to have like mixed nuts or even a spoonful of peanutbutter for some energy before working out - nothing too heavy.

I eat an apple around 4pm then go to the gym after work at 5. It holds me over till dinner.

Re: Good Pre-Gym Snacks?

they also make 100 calorie protein bars. they are not heavy like some of the others but still give you a boost before you work out.

Strangely enough, I'll usually heat up a chicken breast, because I've heard that protein not only sticks with you, but having it in your system during a workout means less energy depletion. Who knows whether it works or not! Chat Icon
