Neutered??
Our dog got neutered on Monday. We picked him up from the doctors on tuesday. He is eating and going to the bathroom without a problem. He just has been sleeping most of yesterday and today. Is this typical behavior? Normally he is very active and running around. He is still playing but just alot less these past two days. Will he go back to his typical behavior or will he be calmer because of the neutering?

Re: Neutered??
he might just be tired from the anastesia, make sure you give him a lot of water, it'll help flush it out of his system...how old it he? usually it helps to make them less dominant, but not less active...so he should be back to himself in no time!

Thank you for answering. He was 1 years old in March. I think he is also a little depressed because he has to wear the cone and he hates it so I have him sitting on my lap alot where I can keep a very good eye on him so he wont lick the stitches. He doesnt really drink alot of water but he loves ice cubes so I will try to get him to eat a few more ice cubes!

Re: Neutered??
It could definitely be a combination of the surgery, the cone & the anesthesia.
Is the pup going after the incision? If not maybe remove the collar when you can supervise the dog.

He is going after the incision, licking it. so when I can really sit and watch him I do take it off.

I know my male dogs were groggy for a few days after, particularly the little ones. Def try to get some water/ice in the pup & watch to make sure that everything looks normal at potty time.

Re: Neutered??
Milo is just exhausted from his traumatic experience. He'll return to his lovable, leaping self soon.
