Is it hard to learn how to make jewelry?
I had a co-worker who did this and she made earrings for my girls on my wedding day and my bracelet and it came out absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to learn how to do it..but wanted to know if anyone knew it was hard or where you can take classes ??

I dont think its too hard.
Check with Michaels or AC Moore...they usually have classes

It depends, are you talking about metal work, or anything that involves any welding or soldering? My mom is a jeweler and she takes lots of courses on a regular basis to learn new techniques. But to make beaded or simple cold connection jewelry, its easy! You can learn from a book or a kit or some classes.

In HS, I took a jewelry making ARTS class (metal work). We actually melted Gold and Silver into different wax molds (rings, bracelets, pendants, etc.) It was fairly easy. I am actually thinking about getting into it again. I dont remember the techniques. But, i do remember loving it!

I tought myself... I also teach my high school students... they pick it up pretty quickly... you just need to be detail oriented and patient!

I also have a jewelry business. I learned everything i know at "Beads and Stitches" in Bellmore!! My friend and I took a whole bunch of classes there last summer and i loved it so much, i was doing craft fairs and art shows by the early fall!!
