Anyone interested in working for Sylvan Learning Center?
Hi all, I just wanted to put this out there for anyone interested...
I've worked for Sylvan Learning Center in Levittown since 2004 and I absolutely LOVE it. Unfortunately, they are looking for a few new teachers, because myself and one other teacher will be moving out-of-state within the next few months.
If anyone is looking for a GREAT second job, please FM me for more info. You must be a certified teacher.

Absolutely! They'll hire teachers that are certified in anything, and then train you in the areas that you'll be strongest. For instance, I'm n-6 regular ed. with a Masters in Literacy, and I teach the Academic Reading, Beginning Reading and Academic Writing programs.

I work for Sylvan LC part time too- IN CT and I have to add that it is a WONDERFUL place to work. Our center is such a postive environment! I love working there! If there is an opening somewhere-go for it! I am sure you will love it!

the money is not the best honestly...it varies based on experience-at least at my center-not sure if they all work the same way. You get paid for the training sessions as well! the work environment makes it worth it. There is no planning, no take home, no grading-...the kids generally want to be there, from my experience it is completely positive-from directors, to parents to kids! Best of all-the program works!
