quest about filing your nails...
does anyone know if there is a certain direction you should file them in to reduce splitting?

I don't think the direction matters, but the file does! I use Ms. Manicure nail files and IMO, they're awesome!

I always heard that you're not supposed to go back in forth...stick with one direction for the entire nail or you risk splitting.

yes - i agree with this.
this is true!!
I do my own nails most of the time and I go back and forth. I have never had any splitting
