Airfare to Europe
How much should I expect to pay to fly into Venice and out of Rome for two people this summer?
TIA

Re: Airfare to Europe
Obviously the sooner you book the better the airfare....but I would think somewhere in the $400-600 range.
I booked a flight to Frankfurt, Germany 2 weeks ago and it's costing me $730 (I fly out on Sunday). Actually, the ticket itself was $515 but the taxes & "fees" were $217!

The CHEAPEST I'm getting right now is $1175!

Re: Airfare to Europe
Can you fly in and out of the same place? That might change the price...

I agree. They usually add more $$$ if it is different airports, b/c then it is an open jaw ticket.

Re: Airfare to Europe
Italy usually has pretty expensive tickets... I would think that during the summer you looking at something around $1000.00...
ETA: until a month ago I worked at a ticket consolidator office... and it is true, taxes alone on the tickets range from $200-280 at this point....

Re: Airfare to Europe
We're going on a cruise into venice and back to rome, and we're on a tight schedule so I can't really be flexible with airports. I guess I am going to have to suck it up and pay the $$$$$$$$$$

Re: Airfare to Europe
Last September I flew into and out of Salzburg (actually into Frankfurt, then Salzburg) and paid about $700 with taxes.
I recently booked a trip to Paris for this October and I'm paying $717. total. I found cheaper on other airlines, but not ones I was willing to fly.

Re: Airfare to Europe
I think the prices in the $1000 range sound right for Italy! Remember, the day of the week that you are flying does make a difference. I was just on Expedia and they had some good summer packages but no flights to Europe that weren't crazy.
