I teach but have never tutored how much should I charge?
Someone my mom works with was inquiring about me tutoring her child. What would you say is a fair rate? I was thinking $25-30 per hour....is that fair? Should it be more or less?

I charge $50 an hour, but was pushed to by my district. I think $35/$40 is pretty fair.

I have been tutoring for years and started out at $50 and am now up to $75.
I usually negotiate with the people I am tutoring - depending on what their needs are and frequency of the tutorings.

Teachers where I work generally charge about the same as they'd make per hour teaching, plus a little extra to compensate for gas/traveling. If it were me, I'd probably charge between $35-40, but if the going rate near you is higher, go for it!

i used to charge $45 but now i upped it to $50...
i deal with a lot of referrals and have been tutoring the same kids for years so i keep it around thr same price. I know i can charge a lot more but i know these families and they dont have a ton of money...
