I cried today!
It hit me when kids gave me gift cards, and hugs and wished me a happy summer, that I really realized I will not see them next year and I have no job

Me too! I completely lost it. I have a job next year somewhere else. Some of these kids I've had for 2 years straight. It was a very emotional goodbye. And I'm still sad.. it took me forever to leave my classroom.. I kept looking around knowing it will be the last time. :(

me too :( and at graduation (eight grade) yesterday :(
and I heard the district hired FOUR people in my department. I didn't even get an interview. I worked so hard all year for them and all they did was sing my praises and then they do this.
It was such a slap in the face :( I am heart broken and livid at the same time.

 well know that you touched their hearts, each and every one. and they wont forget you just because you wont see them.
and im sure you WILL see them downthe road whenyou least expect it, with a grin from ear to ear

I cried yesterday infront of parents, too. One girl is moving and it's killing me that I won't see her next year.
