Pressure cookers
We cooked a corned beef tonight in the pressure cooker and it was kind of hard and dry. Was it over or under cooked?
I went exactly by the directions in the manual. Last time we thought we undercooked it so we cooked it for longer and it was the same way. I really stink at using crock pots, breadmakers, and pressure cookers.

Re: Pressure cookers
Is a pressure cooker different than a crock pot? I know people who swear by using the CP for Corner Beef. I used my CP for the first time at Easter to make a Pot Roast and everyone including seasoned eaters said it was great!
ETA...My mom boils corned beef

Yes, a pressure cooker cuts DOWN the cooking time. We used to boil corned beef too but it took hours and hours, the pressure cook says 35-40 minutes for 3lbs. Maybe I will try the CP.

Re: Pressure cookers
I never made a corned beef in the pressure cooker but I make pot roast in it a lot.
I am assuming the instructions told you put water in to cover about 1/2 of the meat? How long did you have it in for? Usually if my pot roast is hard it means I need to leave it in longer for it to get nice and soft & stringy...like over an hour.
