What are your thoughts on buying clothes?
If you plan to go down a few sizes (for example I'd like to lose 30 lbs), do you try to hold off on buying clothes? Do you feel it is a waste to buy clothes now when you won't be able to wear them for long? Or do you just buy clothes anyways because you need something to wear?
If you were in my position, how much would you spend on a dress you don't need, but would like for a party?
I know this is fashion, but it is directed specifically towards dieters.

Re: What are your thoughts on buying clothes?
i am dealing w/ this now. i have put on some weight and a large amt of my clothes don't fit well. i do buy stuff now bc i need stuff to wear. i know i will lose the weight, but in the meantime i want to look good!
my dh on the other hand will not buy clothes if he plans to lose weight bc he thinks it's a waste.
not sure how much i would spend... it would depend on if i thought i would get a lot os use out of the dress (in addition to wearing it to the party)

Re: What are your thoughts on buying clothes?
I had to buy a bunch of casual summer clothes recently to go on vacation. I just tried not to spend too much money on what I was buying in case it doesn't fit in a few weeks (I hope!). As for dresses, I would try to find something that could be taken in by a seamstress (maybe something with a simple silhouette, like an A-line dress?) when you're ready.

Re: What are your thoughts on buying clothes?
well, I have been a few pounds heavier than I would like for a while now-- so I was forced to buy new clothes. I did not want to buy anything expensive unless it was a top or a dress, that I know would still fit me after I lost the weight I wanted to.
As for other things-- this is when I discovered Target. They have great stuff that can last through the season, and I don't feel bad spending the money cause everything is so cheap. Also, I think I will still be able to wear most of the stuff, it will just fit a little differently.

Re: What are your thoughts on buying clothes?
I try and hold out at all costs but when I wear the same thing over and over I get embarrassed so I give in to buying the fat size...I try and buy only a few things and try and buy them at places like TJ Maxx and NY and Co if they are having a great sale
