Northfork wine tasting Restaurant rec's...
Besides the Frisky Oyster...where else can a group of like 6-8 people go (or make reservations at if needed) to eat out there?

I was at Porto Bello recently and was disappointed!!
Legends is GREAT!!! Love the Cooperage too!
Jamesport Country Kitchen and the Jamesport Manor are good as well.

Personally, I never had a problem at Porto Bello. DH and I enjoy going there....however, only go if u have time to spend relaxing over dinner! It's definitely NOT the type of restaurant where you'll be rushed out.
Stay clear of Red Door - the reputation far exceeds it's current menu.
If you're willing to drive out to Greenport, DH and I love the Fifth Season (however, it's not cheap - very comparible to Frisky Oyster).
Oooh, and O'Mally's in Southold is always great for burgers/steaks, etc. : )

Seafood Barge in Southhold
The Lobster Inn "Northside" in Baiting Hollow is also very nice

We actually went this weekend and ate at Portobello - it was REALLY good!! I want to try the Seafood Barge next. We tried to get to Briermere's we didn't go down Sound enough so we thought we passed it and went all the way east again LOL..

Maybe they fired the chef DH and I were there a few months ago for a night out without the kiddies and the food was just ok. In the past they were FABULOUS. It was once before that time that we were just as unimpressed. maybe we will have to go back if the food has once again returned to the standards where they have been!!
