Re: Clothing: First Day
No suit! It's the telltale sign of a newbie!
But everyone dresses up on the first day to make a good impression (naturally, as you would at any job). A dress or nice blouse with a skirt/capris would be perfectly appropriate. Esp. if you're teaching at a school with no A/C. I worked at an A/C-less school for 6 years and it was BRUTAL in september and again in May/June. So, VERY IMPORTANT: make sure your blouse is cotton. Cotton! Cotton! (I'm bad at emphasis, sorry) Because armpit stains do not make a nice first impression.

Re: Clothing: First Day
Each year I have worn a skirt and shirt - usually sleeveless - it is way too hot for a suit.

Re: Clothing: First Day
Im wearing a skirt the first day. I actually bought a new one yesterday. Talbots Outlet on Franklin Ave in Garden City is having a huge sale. I got so many nice things to wear for work.
