Clothing: First Day
What do you plan on wearing the first day of school? A full suit or just dress pants/dress shirt?

I wore a suit last year and was SO hot. I've actually been thinking about this lately. I think I'm going to go to Ann Taylor and buy a new outfit, probably one step down from a suit.

that's what I am worried about.
I am ALWAYS hot. Even in the winter, I never wear anything longer than 3/4 sleeves and no sweaters for me.
I don't want to be sitting there in a suit and have sweat pouring down my face or something like that. The kids would probably think I was nervous, or I could pass out. That would be a great start! lol

Dress pants and blouse... or even a skirt if it's very hot.
No one in my school wears suits... altohugh i will probably wear one on parent-teacher/back to school night

I need to go clothes shopping. I just spent the last 2 years of my life pregnant and all of my old clothes don't fit. Considering I never taught up here I need to figure out what I need to get.

You just ask all the questions you need to. I totally understand how you feel. It was a while ago for me but questions are good.

same here! no one wears a suit in my school.
I was just about to say...do teachers ACTUALLY wear suits to school??? The only time I've ever donned a suit is for an interview. During the school year, I'm all about slacks or capris, skirts, and nice tops. I actually dress kind of casually for school, but I always look presentable and professional.

that's what i was thinking. but i wasn't sure as a new teacher if I should do "differently" to impress the right people.
i definitely do not want to wear a suit.
