Back from San Francisco(updated w/ few more pics)
We are back from SF. There is so much to highlight and I don't think I will cover it all, so if you have questions...please feel free to fm me. We stayed two nights in the Hyatt in Union Square, three nights at Harrahs in Lake Tahoe, and four nights in Sausalito at the Casa Madrona Hotel.
First off, if you stay in the City..make sure to pack lots of long sleeved shirts, jackets, and pants. I didn't really believe that the weather was pretty cool (45-50 degrees at night) this time of year.
The Hyatt was a very nice hotel. Great service and lots of elevators (gets pretty crowded being in the city). Lots of good shopping in the area too. The wedding we had there was on the very top floor of the building. Amazing views and the food was very good. We also ate at the Stinking Rose. Dh loves garlic. It was pretty good. I was tempted to order the garlic ice cream , but decided not too..lol.. We also ate at Mona Lisa. I ordered the oso bucco with polenta, which was yummy. Both restaurants are in the North Beach area of SF or little Italy. Oh, speaking of food...I was obsessed with the CHICKEN APPLE SAUSAGE. I guess it's a big thing in SF for breakfast. You have to try it..sooooo good!! We also visited Fisherman's Wharf. We walked along pier 39. The seafood in this location is unreal. We had the shrimp cocktail to go and it was excellent. You can also get a good view of Alcatraz from here...we didn't visit it. The Sea Lions are also so cute.
On our way to Lake Tahoe, we stopped in Old Sacramento. The scenery was very old western. Some small shops and restaurants were in this area. It was a nice pit stop!!
In Lake Tahoe, we stayed at Harrahs hotel. We had a really big room with two FULL bathrooms. It was awesome!! The casino was pretty good. There was an underground tunnel that takes you to Harvey's ( another casino) that has a poker room. The buffet in Harrahs was out of this world good. We did dinner and breakfast there. Lots of small boutiques/shops in the area. The weather in LT was hot, hot, hot!! There was a beach about 1/2 mile from the hotel. The water was amazing...CRYSTAL BLUE and very clean. There was also a small restaurant on the beach. If you drive about 30 minutes away from our hotel, you will find many other beaches. The water was just so beautiful!!
Lastly, we hit Sausalito. We stayed at Casa Madrona. The hotel was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at on our trip. This was my favorite location. The ferry to SF was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We ate at many places here. All of the food was excellent. Lots of shops in the area. My favorite store was Georgiou. From Sausalito, we took a day trip to Napa Valley and Muir Woods. In Napa, we went to Domaine Carneros (AMAZING!!!!), Domaine Chandon, and Robert Mondavi wineries. I wanted to go to Cake Bread (everyone talked so highly of it on this site), but by the time we got there it was closed for wine tasting.. On our way to Napa, we hit the outlets. At Muir Woods, make sure to wear sneakers. I wanted to hike up the mountain, but only made it half way. My feet were hurting. On top of the mountain, I heard that there was a restaurant and some shops. FYI...If you drive along ROUTE 1...you will get the most amazing views....it was a little scarey because you are driving through mountains..but the views are UNREAL!!
I will post some pictures shortly!!

Re: Back from San Francisco(updated w/ few more pics)
THese pics are so amazing. I never really had a desire to visit SF area until right now. I think I will have to add this to my list of places to visit. Some of your pics looks so European to me, made me think of my visit to Italy.
Looks like you had a great time!!

I felt like I was in Italy when we stayed in Sausalito. The hotel was very European-esk..
