I'm going to cry...
3 weeks worth of planning and about 150 documents down the drain.
I had everything on a flash drive and while DH was vacuuming the lanyard got caught and broke it.
It's all gone!!!

Oh my God I'm so sorry!!! maybe you can take it somewhere to get the data off of it? geek squad or something like that may be able to retrieve the data.

DH is an IT specialist. He says that you can definitely send it to a computer "forensics specialist", but it'll likely cost you about $500 because they'd have to micro-solder another USB connector back on.
I don't know...3 weeks of work might be worth it to me. I lost a good part of my thesis about a week before it was due. Paying that money was the best thing i could have done for my sanity!
