update on bottom of page:Can you check out my "welcome" hand out?
I don't like to put too much detail on it, just the basics. Does it seem ok to you or should I add/take away anything?

Classroom Policies: 1. Please be to class on time.
2. Be prepared with your homework completed and ready for tests/quizzes.
3. Be considerate of others. Treat everyone with respect.
4. Please do not chew gum or bring your Ipods or cell phones to class.
5. Please raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking.
6. Please use the bathroom during the first 5 minutes or the last 5 minutes of class.
7. Habla ESPAÑOL en clase! TRY to speak as much Spanish as you can ?
Grading: ? Tests/Quizzes (30%): Quizzes will be given throughout a chapter and tests at the end of each chapter.
? Homework (20%): Each missing HW is a 4 point deduction off your HW average. An assignment can be made up the next day for half credit. Please check www.schoolnotes.com every night for assignments.
? Participation/Class work (30%): You should try to speak Spanish whenever possible.. Remember to stay on task and complete all class work activities and notes. *See participation rubric on the back of this page.
? Projects (20%): We will do many projects in class and some you must complete at home.
Extra Help: ? Spanish 6: Tuesday mornings at 7:30 in M 28 ? Spanish 7: Thursday mornings at 7:30 in M28
*I will also come in early on the day of a test or quiz.

Awesome! I'm a Spanish teacher too and if you don't mind, I might steal a bit or two from you. The handout looks good. It's fair and appropriate for 6th and 7th graders.
Oh, btw, MS Word always red-underlines "Classwork" for spell check and tells me it's "class work."

this sounds funny. i would say "arrive and be seated before the bell rings"
i would also take out all the "pleases". it sounds like you're "begging" instead of "telling"

hmm interesting. I guess I took too many courses this summer, that promoted being "nice" to kids and making them not feel threatened! haha!

ok...so I talked to my colleague and wanted us to be in sync so i changed a few things..and also incorporated some of your suggestions...what do you think?
